Work up this morning so excited to go and watch the U6 boys team I'm co-coaching play. I was counting down the minutes to leave. We head out to the field and begin walking around searching for my co-coach. All I know about this team is there are 5 five year old boys and that's pretty much it. I know one of the boys and his mom who is the other coach. Aaron and I walked around for probably 20 minutes before realizing that if we can't find them on the 6 fields that are there, they probably aren't there. I was so sad. Maybe I'll have better luck once I've attended a practice with them Thursday.
In between soccer and the fair, we came back to Aaron's house and hung out. At one point I got up to go to the bathroom and tried to step over a toolbox he had sitting in the middle of the floor. Only I didn't make it all the way over. My baby toe caught the edge of it. Ouch. It hurt so bad. Even at the end of the night it was still swollen and bruised.
After a very disappointing start to my day, Aaron and I head out to the fair this afternoon. Our first destination was the Jump! dog show. Seriously, those dog are amazing. This one border collie can do 6 back flips and catch a Frisbee in between each flip! It was amazing. They also had a 3 legged pit bull mix who competed in the deck jump. Basically the dogs run down a deck and jump (usually after a Frisbee) to see who can jump the furthest. This 3 legged dog could easily jump 25 ft! It was really cute watching them because they would get so excited before he gave the command to go that they would literally be dancing and inching their way up. So cute. Our second destination was the sea lion show. We went to it last year and it is also another fun little show. The sea lions could dance and do dolphin tricks like back flips and jumping outta the water to touch the ball hanging in the air. Sparkles (?) could even play basketball! We ended up getting a turkey leg to share and a root beer jug to share. Then I had to get a roasted ear of corn. That's what I look forward to every year.
On another note, our mouse is still outsmarting us. He is still eating the cheese off the traps and still setting them off without getting caught. Think I'm going to buy one of the traps that allows them to go in but not come out. Maybe that will work and I can avoid the sticky traps.
