Yesterday it was close to 90 out and this morning I was in for a shock. I showered and shaved my legs planning on wearing my dress to the Devon Picnic at the zoo. Oops. Very quickly I changed into jeans and a tshirt and was still pretty chilly at times in the shade. The temp this morning was 58. I love love love the season fall. It simply is my favorite. While this season brings my favorite colors out in everything, but the leaves truly take the colors and run. They turn crisp and crunchy and begin swaying in the trees. The sound they make rustling in the trees is such a great soundtrack on a quiet night. Every tree is unique, every year they create a beautiful picture for us to enjoy for such a short time. Beginning the first part of September I start dreaming up wonderful ideas for carving pumpkins. Driving by that first pumpkin patch brings a smile to my face that can last days. Hay rides, corn mazes, and apple picking are all around though I have never experienced any of those. I'm ready to bring out the slow cooker and start making stews and pot roast and cuddling up with hot apple cider and a fire place. My sweaters, hoodies, and long sleeves are dying to make a comeback. The sad thing is that while I am ready for this season, and my senses have been fooled today, I know summer still has quite a bit left in for me.
Not only does fall bring all of this, Thanksgiving and Christmas are also rounding the corner. But fear not, I will post more when that gets closer. :)
