Yay for finally starting a blog and finally getting a post up!! How exciting!!
I finally got around to doing this blog for several reasons, mostly to keep track of all the random unpredictable events that have been happening in my life lately. I know it can only get better.
As of now I have moved into the second house I am renting with some friends. After being "kicked" outta our first house, we found a second one. Ok so we weren't kicked, we were good little girls and let him have his house back that he owned so his son could attend a different school district that the one he got in trouble in. So we are now living right back by OC. So much for leaving the place. Things are buzzing up there with intramural softball games and everyone runing by our house. It really feels like we never left college. When we moved into this house it was very obvious that a group of boys lived here, the house was so unclean. There were rings in the bathtub that took 3 cleanings to get out, no lightbulb, a couple holes in the walls, a poop in the bathroom. Literally. Stuck on the wall behind the toilet paper holder. Can we say discusting. Once we finally got the inside up to a satisfying level we decided to try to get the landlord to tackle the outside, mainly the yard. As it happened, the boys never got around to mowing the yard this year. Yeah, I said year. And we moved in the first of August. The backyard was like a field, grass was nearing waist high. It even took the landlords about a month to get around to mow it. We vowed not to mow it once until they mowed it begin with. Once the grass was mowed we found we had a surprise in the back. Low and behold, we actually have a raised vegetable garden area that was hidden by the grass!! We're so excited to plant veggies in the spring and have fresh garden veggies! Yumm!!
My second avdenture actually started at the first house. I took the recycling out one afternoon and flipped the bin over to find a black widow in there. I'm not afraid of bugs or anything like that really so she didn't bother me. In fact, I took a couple pictures of her on my phone to send to Aaron and we had a chat about her house and my house. Her house is outside, in the recycling bin if she wishes, and mine is inside. She eats all the bugs that are getting in my pool, and I won't kill her. You know, your basic truce. That was that. We move into our new house a couple weeks later and start getting everything set up. I'm a little on the obsessive complulsive side if you know me and things have to match and have order, specifically my closet. I don't think this is bad. I like knowing my jeans are on white hangers, my summer shirts on yellow, my winter on blue, my dresses and skirts on orange, and my jackets on green. Very simple. So I'm doing a little swapping of hangers and feel something on my hand, like a hair or something. I shake it off and notice it's a spider. No big deal. Being curious I squat down to look at it. Oh goodness, it's a black widow. Again. And she just ran across my hand. At this point I surpress the desire to scream and squish her and run and get a plastic juice container. You know, natural reaction. I catch her in that. Ok, I gotta admit, now that she is caught, it's kinda cool to be able to look at her up that close. Anyway, I poured a little fingernail polish in there to kill her and put the bag in a ziplock. And duct tape the zipper closed. And put it in another bag and duct tape that zipper too. Then like on CSI, I label the bag with the date, contents, and my name. Just in case. My theory was just in case someones hand starts rotting off I can take it to the dr with us. :) Brilliant, I know. I'm gonna post a new one about my next visitor.
